Did you know that how you spend your weekend can actually affect the following workweek? Too often than not, we scramble to catch up on things we have missed, and this robs us of the peace we need to be able to focus and work productively on our business. Today, I'm going to share a few tips on how you can spend your weekend so that you feel more in control as Monday officially kicks in.
What better way to lower your anxiety than to plan ahead? You will feel more confident knowing that you have something to look forward to that you can follow in a logical manner. Write down those weekly goals on a piece of paper or using your note-taking app. Remember to avoid setting too many goals to allow some space for any changes to occur.
Some solopreneurs or entrepreneurs find themselves recalling negative situations in their mind while they're spending downtime. Perhaps you're experiencing the same thing too. There's no point in worrying about the past because it is no longer in your control. Stop regretting those moments you screwed up the previous week or how you could have done things better. Instead, find the lessons in these mistakes - this is called reframing the situation.
The weekend can seem like the perfect time to catch up with your friends, run errands for your family, and more. Whether you want these obligations or not, too many obligations will leave you feeling overworked and stressed out to the point where you'll have to spend the next week looking back at how you "wasted" your weekend. Protect yourself from overload by making it a rule to spend quality "ME TIME." Some ideas include reading books, getting a babysitter so you can go to the movies, taking a trip to the coffee shop, or waking up late!
Excited to end the week so you can enjoy some cheat meals and spend Saturday night drinking with your friends? While the weekend is like an oasis in a desert, the last thing you want is to over-indulge. Eating and drinking mindlessly can lead to feelings of guilt and shame the following day. Win every moment you're in, especially during the weekend, by making choices that benefit your body and mind.
Meal prepping on a Sunday to cover your lunches or dinners (or both) for the entire week will save you a ton of hours. Not only that, but it also makes sure that you get to eat healthily. Some ideas include cashew chicken, roast beef, and stir-fry ground pork with veggies. Be sure to store your food in airtight containers in the refrigerator. Avoid exposing food for more than 2 hours.
