The thought of building a new business used to terrify me. But that was before I took the first step which was getting a domain name. Now, I realize that everyone, at one point in their solopreneur journey, can feel afraid no matter their experience level. Because starting a business comes with risks. You're investing money, and you could lose that money. Finding reliable people to outsource some tasks is also a risk.
But you need to overcome fear if you want to see your dreams happen. When you conquer fear, you also experience personal growth. In today's blog post, I'm going to reveal five ways to deal with fear.
You should never start a business without knowing what you're getting into. With this, I say that you need to conduct research. Research your niche, target audience, and the product or service you're going to offer. At least have some idea if this is going to work out. Try to connect with another solopreneur so you can ask questions. Join an online solopreneur group as well!
I love the Chinese proverb, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." If you are afraid to take that first step, know that it doesn't have to be a huge step! The act of writing down your thoughts is a good first step. Commit to doing just one thing each day to move closer to your goal. Small changes have a compounding effect!
Sometimes, we willingly do something for others but rarely for ourselves. For example, you may not take the day off despite feeling sick. But if your kid was sick, I bet you would, without any doubt, take two days off. If you can't start a business because you're thinking of you, think about the people you love. How can they benefit from it? Will it give them a better life? Will it make them proud?

In fact, you can hire someone you can afford to help accomplish your daily business tasks while you're at work. That way, you're able to expand your reach even when you're away.
There are pros and cons to starting a business, but you can choose to focus on the positives. Successful people in the world have succeeded because they chose optimism over self-doubt. Dwelling on the advantages brightens your mood. As a result, you gain more energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. These are powerful ingredients to making great things happen!
