“How do I find a coworking space near me?” If you’re a solopreneur who works from home, I’m certain that at one point you asked yourself this question.
A coworking space amps up your productivity because you’re motivated seeing professionals like yourself. It fosters a sense of community and makes you more creative. A coworking space allows opportunities to meet awesome individuals!
The good news is that there are so many coworking spaces to choose from. For the past few months, we’ve introduced a couple of cities with coworking spaces:
Check them out! I know that some coworking spaces from the lists above may not appeal to you. Which is why today, I share 5 tips to help you find the right one.
The most practical way to discover coworking spaces in your city is to type into Google search “coworking space near me.” This query should bring up a list of options with their address, business hours, and contact details. Take the time to read customer reviews which you’ll find in their Google listing. You’ll have some idea of what to expect from a coworking space.
Perhaps some of your friends and relatives have tried working in one of these shared office spaces. If you’re currently part of a solopreneur Facebook group, try asking around. People’s opinions are a good starting point before you actually visit the coworking space.
Consider the accessibility of the coworking space. How much time do you need to reach the place? A shorter commute allows you to maximize your work hours and get back home in time. Also, pick a coworking space that’s located near stores so you can get lunch or have snacks -- in case the coworking space doesn’t offer food.
Do you want the cheapest coworking space? A free coworking space? If you’re on a tight budget, you’ll have to go for low-cost or free shared office spaces. However, you cannot expect to have a desk dedicated to yourself. The space may be extremely crowded.
Paid options also differ in amenities. Good amenities to look for include parking spaces, snacks and drinks, meeting rooms (if you have a team), and lockers. Find out if a shared office space allows 24/7 access and pets. Compare prices and features. Make sure that they’re worth paying for and that they meet all your solopreneur needs for the day.
Lastly, pay a coworking space a visit. This is the best way to know if a coworking space suits your business. Drop by on your way to the grocery or actually spend the day there. Get a feel of the area. Are you able to concentrate? Is the place clean? Is the staff friendly? How loud or quiet is the place? Are you 100% comfortable?
If you’re bored at home, need a boost of creativity, want some company, working in a shared office space is a great experience. Need a list of coworking spaces in a specific city? Did I miss any? Comment below so I can write about them soon!
