As a solopreneur, you keep discovering the things you need to do to thrive in your space. But what about those you should stop doing every single day? We all have these habits or practices we’re accustomed to that do more harm and good to our business. So before avoidable failures actually happen, bring your awareness to the points below.
I like what Napoleon Hill says: “Do not wait: the time will never be 'just right'. Start where you stand, and work whatever tools you may have at your command and better tools will be found as you go along.”
True enough, there’s never a perfect time for something to get started. You can always come up with a new reason not to get something done today or tomorrow. Results happen now - at this very moment.
Just because you’re more than satisfied with your earnings in your solopreneur business doesn’t mean you can spend money on anything. There are two money mistakes that business owners, in general, make:
Don’t burn your cash unnecessarily. For example, don’t buy the next shiny expensive tool when you can achieve the same result with something more affordable or free. Don’t build a fancy office when you can start from your kitchen table or a co-working space.

A lot of solopreneurs assume that their audience wants this and that. And they wonder why they don’t get results. Only a few business owners satisfy the desires of their market, and that is because they do research.
Starting today, gather details about your target audience. Run a survey, throw a question on your Facebook group that helps you gain insights into their preferences, read comments on blogs in your niche, and join conversations in online communities.
Distractions do two things to you… First, they lower your productivity because you lose focus. Second, they increase your stress levels because you’re not able to achieve your goals for the day. Social media is a huge distraction and most often than not, a few seconds of scrolling through Facebook turns into minutes.
Know that Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms will always be there for you to access at the end of the day. Log out of all social media before the day starts. Put your phone away.

Stop ordering pizza or any type of junk because you want to save time. By making this a habit, in reality, you are wasting time. Junk food contains more empty calories than real nutrients. Not only does it make you gain weight, you also feel sluggish and experience brain fog. Do you get what I mean?
Being in the best possible state is the key to succeeding. Energy is everything. And with that, plan and prepare your meals. This doesn’t have to be stressful and time-consuming. Look for healthy recipes that are quick to make. Gather all the ingredients over the weekend. You can even do meal prep in advance and don’t have to worry about it for days.
