Wouldn't it be so amazing to be able to make your audience convert by making little tweaks in the way you market? Of course, the answer is a resounding YES.
Solopreneurs should be able to get into their customers' thoughts if they were to gain an edge in selling. Yes, master the art of selling - not just tools and productivity hacks.
The ultimate strategy is to use psychology in your marketing. Psychology allows you to understand what people want so you can convince them to say yes.
I encourage you to follow the 6 tips below.
Successful solopreneurs focus on their audience and not on themselves. Most newbie marketers assume that to win people, they need to prove that their product is the best and most popular. Move away from the need for approval to actually helping your customers. Learn all you can about them and address their needs.
You lose customers by presenting a lot of choices. Isn't it that when a gelato shop features several mouth-watering flavors, you just cannot decide which one to pick? Contrary to what most people believe, fewer options lead to action. Keep things simple. Don't make your audience wait and don't be the reason for their decision fatigue.
Scarcity gives people the drive to want that thing you offer. Scarcity increases the perceived value of your product. There are many ways to use scarcity. You can say that you're selling a limited number of stocks or that only a few items are left. Another tactic is to use a deadline or a time limit. (Anniversary Sale, Deal of the Day, Holiday Specials)
As a solopreneur/marketer, it's important to distinguish between the features and benefits of a product. Features refer to characteristics (specs), while benefits are the end results (more savings, peace of mind, increase in confidence, etc.) Make sure that your copy emphasizes benefits - the ways your product solves their problems and addresses their immediate needs.
If you've read Dr. Robert B. Cialdini's “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion,” one of the principles of influence discussed was reciprocity. Reciprocity means giving something to gain something in return. The simplest way to use reciprocity is to offer free stuff. For example, if you're running a list building campaign, give away a free ebook in exchange for people's email addresses.

Have you experienced going to a restaurant only to find out that the place only had 2 customers? You're thinking that maybe the food sucks. We often turn to the opinions and reactions of others before we take action. This is social proof. Consider these methods to take advantage of social proof: Feature testimonials on your website, celebrity endorsements, badges (BBB, McAfee SECURE, etc.)
With these 6 strategies, convincing people to choose you becomes easier. No matter what you do, remember that your audience wants to feel that you care about their needs and are worthy of their trust.
